Hmm. I’m attracted to engineers..
Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

Still smiling and moving on. Never ever take any tension in life. Yours life is like a dream to others. Be blessed and pray.

What you are looking for is eternal peace that only God can provide, no one else.
It matters but your health matters before everything. If your financial condition is good and not working 6 months will be alright then take a break and recover.
But be prepared to join with less salary than current after your break is over
In IBM or other company explain your issue to manager and take one year work from home first on grounds of health issue. In IBM there is volunteering activity also that you can participate in making cards for orphanage people or other helping activities. As you are already looking for a break, you first reduce focus on work in case if they removed you on performance also, nothing bad will happen to you. Involve with playing or helping children. Child smile can heal your pain and relax you. I have been there just like you and now doing above things to make me heal. First thing job is not issue for you, you have to heal your heart for that. If you are ibmer, you can sick leave and twenty vacation leave as well.
Out of Context : I am serving notice period, looking for full stack developer role in java and angular with 3.10 yrs experience, pls inform me if any opportunities are available?. Available to join within a month.
Check if you can opt for a sabbatical leave instead, you can still keep your job and position but you will not receive payment for the 6 months.
Check for Sabbatical leave. That's the best option under such circumstances.

yes, it matters. Consider these are your last few years of working. Make through it and probably you will have retirement soon.
sir it is very unfortunate that gap will matter
i would suggest that you should slow down your work and every aspect of your life for at least 3 months or else go on a vacation for 10 days
do think about like and all the people depends on you and your importance on every one.
i will not recommend you to take a break rather slow down for a while and collect the motivation to live more and even invest time in finding a life partner don't hurry it
and most importantly take care of your physical health more than your mental health
focus on health only
I am sorry for your loss and I understand it even though I am younger than you.
but I have seen a lot and the only thing I learnt is don't stop.
hey , don't go with so many if and buts - i don't know what your current situation is but what i believe you are more than your job
make a decision and stick to it , stick to all pros n cons , anyways not getting job or getting a job with less pay after your break will not kill you , surviving itself is a big achievement and all additional suffering comes from own mind. we suffer more in mind than reality.
if somehow after draining yourself you are earning 2 lakh pm in a metro city , definitely you are gonna get 1 lakh pm remote job - and that option is far better in terms of mental peace , you will get to live with family n hometown.
just make a decision and own it , rest everything will fall in place , time heals everything
After 6 months, You can mention that you worked on your own startup and now back to job market because it didn't work out. How much is your current ctc btw?
mental health is much more important than money and day of the week
Don't do that. Don't take a break. I too have faced similar situation. Somewhat bad only. But I clung on. Now i am doing just fine. Bcz break is a red flag for hiring
In current situation taking break will make things worse as after break again you will have search for job and all but as someone suggested check for sabbatical leave that will ease you up. Go to your hometown, have multiple vacation, connect with your loved ones and when fell good to join then join.
