I keep on reading stories about how Goldman Sachs analysts are working 80+ hour workweeks and making six figure salaries but are feeling burned out. I have a solution. Get 2x as many analysts to distribute the workload and cut their $150k salary in half. Seems like an easy fix, but I’m not sure everyone will be happy.

So I recently got engaged (yay!) and have spent this fiscal year distracted and billing just enough to get tasks with due dates off my plate. I accidentally overshared information about having anxiety and trouble focusing with someone who is kind of important at the company and now I regret it. She never responded and probably forgot about it but my husband told me that I shouldn’t have done that and I shouldn’t share things like that with people at work unless you are really close with them and now I’m freaking out and crying because I’m scared she will remember that and tell my boss or other higher up people.

Being a technical PM feels like I have less ownership.
All decision making is done in the presence of engineering and data science. In addition to that there is another PM that actually leads the UI of our overall application so often times they are the ones directly interacting with a user and giving us requirements very much in a waterfall way. Is this the nature of technical product management or there’s something that I’m not doing right?

How long does it usually take folks to feel comfortable/confident in a new PM role? I feel like I’ve been really hard on myself and don’t feel like I’m performing where I should be but during a performance check in I received mostly positive feedback from my peers and manager.

I am in a product team where the engineering lead was a good developer who was promoted into role when the previous lead left. They are a good IC, but have trouble staying out of the weeds and I don't feel like the engineers have enough thought leadership.
