I resigned around 2 weeks ago. My program manager told me that the business has already sent the retention email and the package has been approved, but they are waiting for approval from the HR leadership.

Does it usually take this long if they truly want to retain an employee? I suspect they might be giving false hope to keep the employee motivated during the notice period.

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck.
