I pay my irreplaceable and goes-above-and-beyond assistants as much as a Hygienist. That might not help you much, but a good dental office/dentist and an employee who wants to go above and beyond their standard role can make very good money and make a career out of it.
I feel I've been doing that multiple years for multiple places especially this one and it's not adding up which helped make my decision to go to school
If you would like to reach out to talk — I’m a Pennsylvania EFDA since 2012. I also went back to school for hygiene and graduated 2020. I have perspective from both ends! Good luck!
Hi I would love to hear your perspective
I graduated with my bachelor’s in dental hygiene at 30. Go for it! One thing is can say is that I was more focused then a lot of my classmates and had a husband and family that was rooting for me. That made it so worth it! I’m working at an amazing FQHC right now and 12 years later, I still love my job.
Go for it. You are almost there. Don’t give up. You won’t regret it, it’s way more money and the experience is way different. It’s a great career. Good luck!!!
It’s worth it—stay strong you can do it!
