You can't.. You can attend meetings on BUSINESS visa, collect data and come back to do analysis in Canada
Or ask the firm to apply for a H1b or L1a
Lot of firms misuse and make you work on business visa but it is a risk and you can get deported
You can say you’re going for business meetings but if you do it too often the security will question you at the airport and flag you once they realize you’re actually working
Can confirm this has happened. A bunch of coworkers were driving across the border and we all had work visas (TN or L1), except one. Border patrol officer took him aside for questioning since he saw he was travelling to the US several times a month. Let him off the hook and told him to apply for a TN when he comes back. He’s Caucasian (born and raised in Canada), so might’ve played out differently if he was a different race lol
We have a few people on our team that are not Canadian citizens and we don't staff them on projects where US/international travel is required.
The special visa is the L1 visa. H1b is a lottery and would take too long; for L1, you usually have to have been with your company for at least 1 year.
You need work visa for that
