Hi, I am working in EY from last 10 months and have very good experience. But my salary is not upto the market standards for around 4 years experience person in SAP Integration. I have a offer from an org with around 50% hike, should I switch or is there a possibility that EY can retain? If so with whom should I discuss this and when should I do it post resignation or before that? My only issue is compensation and not work or team. Will EY retain? I am not expecting to match the current offer.

Worried about potential recession and layoffs...

This is not my wheelhouse so I’m not sure of the answer. If someone is writing a “memoir” and is including me in it, and I DONT want to be in the book, do I have any legal recourse? I understand since it’s been published it doesn’t meet any invasion of privacy or potential defamation yet, but is there something I can do preliminarily to protect myself and stop my inclusion?

If you practice collections in-house, what do you earn and do you receive a bonus?

I have practiced for five years and make $121k as an employee of a financial services company. As the only attorney, I oversee all statewide collections efforts, from demand letter to garnishment, with a case volume of nearly 7k new cases per year, of which the majority I end up litigating. I receive only a $1k bonus per year. Is my compensation fair? My last insurance defense gig was $75k.

Someone on LinkedIn expressed disappointment about the lack of diversity from the big law firms in TX that were posting pics of their summer associates. A managing partner commented that he thought the post might be about a pic he posted (12/14 SAs were white). He tried to defend this by saying that they had LGBT and socioeconomic diversity. The fact that he recognized that his pic might be part of the problem says it all. Law firms need to do better. Sorry, I just wanted to rant.

Has anyone ever dealt with Geico UM case where they insist that a release needs to be signed? Geico extended our client’s policy limits but wants him to sign a release. We offered to sign an acknowledgment of receipt of funds but Geico said without a release signed, they will not issue payment.
