Former employee here. I was aligned to SBA during some of my time there. Don't make the mistake and join ECG. There are good people sprinkled throughout - but only the emotionless, undercutting robots survive.
I left on my on my own volition after almost a year of getting beat down. They hire folks that are NOT seasoned enough for the expectations of the role (myself included) and then treat you like a servant.
It's criminal what they charge their clients relative to the experience they receive. I was absolutely not appropriate for the role I was in - and I was not alone - not by a long shot.
Warm bodies fill seats and line the wallets of senior leaders. Anyone below a senior manager position has little to no control over their own growth.
I’ve only worked with ECG on DDs and thought their work was pretty underwhelming. Wouldn’t leave PwC for it
I just did an interview with them. The recruiter seemed to hate her life. When I asked questions about culture and projects, I got non-answers referring me to the website. . “If you don’t get promoted during the promotion cycle we give you learning resources”. The automated assessments were lazy.
I am also interviewing at a second firm concurrently and the differences were striking at how bad the ECG experience was.
Lots of good people at ECG and great projects. I’ve been here for four years and have experience at other consulting firms and in industry and this is by far the best place I’ve worked - interesting work, great people, small company feel with big company resources.

SBA is a strong group but can be intense - likely not more than Big4 though…50-60 hours a week when it gets bad but don’t think they work weekends almost ever
Any other healthcare consulting firms you would consider rather than ECG. Would you go to ECG if you were laid off and didn’t have any immediate options?
ECG, Chartis, KH, Sg2, Guidehouse, and Huron are the top healthcare focused consultancies. MBB and Big 4 all have pretty good healthcare offerings too.
