Rule of thumb is 1 page if under 10 years of job experience
I don't really agree with the one page gang. Mine is 3 pages. Worked fine for getting me offers at S&, BCG, and several boutiques. But make it meaningful. I didn't have many years of experience, but I did a lot over 5 years - started up a company, launched an NGO, did a fellowship, all while excelling at my job. Not saying that to show off, but the way I organized my resume the first page was the standard career progression, page two was the "extracurriculars" like my startup, and page 3 was academics, research, publications, speaking engagements, etc
One page. I do not interview candidates with a resume longer than a page

I’m at 8 years and mine is 1.5 pages when it’s full CV. I tailor my experience to show the work I’ve done for specific skillset / role and usually tailor it down to 1 page.
Is it 8yrs in consulting though? I don't feel like resume length corresponds with years of employment. Ironically I feel like you can get away with less info the longer your tenure is in the same industry. Being a director at S& is already an achievement that would impress. If you have fewer years of experience or your experience is less related to the industry you're applying to, my opinion is that additional context can help you differentiate yourself.
