Hi, I’m 50. I’ve been unemployed now for a while. There are so few opportunities at my level. I’m at a point where I need to expand my job search. I’ve been on the agency side my entire career and so far I haven’t had any luck with in house roles. Any advice on how to pivot out of the agency world?

You mentioned “at your level” - for me I’ve gone back to my roots as a producer a few times - taking a hit $ and but actually got into better places for myself. Being open to moving can also help though I realize that is not possible for everyone.

Have you considered marketing yourself as a “fractional cmo?” Fractional cmos tend to be heavy on strategy so it may be a good way to open some doors to longer term consulting opportunities.

Same except I’ve mostly been brand side. Almost 48 and basically begging for interviews. I’ve even taken to addressing my age in my cover letter or outreach. Nothing.
