Do you have a law degree or are you planning to pursue one?
I have many. My own and others. Finance and law is a great combo.
I've experience in big 4 consulting over 20 years requiring me to transition/pivot multiple times. Your approach is driven by why you are pivoting, the roles you are interested in, and your existing experience and qualifications. I would investigate....talk to people in the field that do the work you want to do, ask them their opinion and advice. Also research...use AI to tell you what types of work you could do given your experience in finance if you transition to law. You may be surprised at what you don't know. In my experience, the easiest way to get a job in the new area is by doing so at the company you work for now. For example, network with folk in the legal department or compliance department and let them know you are interested in pivoting in the future. Find out what they do, etc. They may have a job or role that your experience aligns to. And if not now maybe later. Good luck!
