The tl dr is you can probably buy approximately the same quality for cheaper, but I’ve heard paying slightly more for a slightly better brand is well worth it.
My parents got me some as a gift. The pillow cases were back ordered and came later. I had picked out a color that was a medium gray, and realized when the pillowcases arrived (after I had washed them a few times and it was too late to return them) they were actually a slightly different color from the sheets—more of a“greige.”
It wasn’t super noticeable at first but the more I’ve washed everything, the more mismatched they look (the pillow cases now look straight up beige/tan).
I do really like the feel of the sheets (percale) and they’re durable in terms of the fabric, if not the dye. I’ve had them for six years and they still feel crisp and new—no weird thin patches or holes or anything.
However, my previous sheets were from Target (Threshold) and I thought they were just as nice and were like 1/6 of the price. They also held up pretty well; I had those for about three years and saw no issues with either the fabric wearing out or the color changing (and these were royal purple).
Also, if you do go with B&B, make sure to look into the different types of fabrics. Some are more satiny, some are crisper (and therefore noisier if you or your partner are a restless sleeper). I had never really thought about different types of cotton/sheet fabrics before so I had to do some research :)
This is super helpful. I’ll look into the target alternative! Thanks a ton😊😊
