Hi Moms - I am going to be travelling with my 18 month old on a 14 hour flight. Any tips or suggestions? Do I take a small stroller or just do a hip carrier? Do I get a separate seat or do infant on since she will not sit by herself anyways? TIA🙏🏼

Definitely get a seat, you’ll appreciate the space and baby will definitely want to sit alone for some of the time. You can also get an inflatable footrest to turn that seat into a bed OR bring her car seat if she’s comfortable sleeping there.

The inflatable footrests are nice but a lot of airlines are banning them, so just make sure it’s allowed on your airline. Car seat would be a better option since you can strap the kiddo down

I’d suggest a travel stroller or even baby carrier vs just a hip seat so you can keep your hands completely free if you need

like

Carrier if you’re aiming to spend the least amount of time in the airport possible. Stroller if you have a layover so you have a place to hold things and another place for baby to sit.

Masking tape is an AMAZING toddler plane toy. 10/10 never travel without it

I have an Ergo baby folding stroller that fits in the overhead bin that I LOVE. If you puchase baby a ticket, they get a carry-on, so you can use the stroller as their carry-on.

So many snacks! A tablet if you’re comfortable (our kids still think tablets only work on airplanes - 5 and 3), painters tape, pipe cleaners, more snacks, the baby carrier (hands free is key), car seat, novelty activities like wiki sticks, the snack memory game, etc.

Travel stroller, toys, lots of snacks and change of clothes for both of you. We flew 3 hours and regret not getting our little one their own seat.

If you’re traveling with someone pick a row without any seats taken and get the aisle and window seat , we’ve lucked out many times before my daughter was 2 traveling to Japan and Costa Rica with her having a free seat

Just posting as a reminder to LEAVE that job (within a reasonable time 😂) and go where the money is!

(p.s. I already know some of you have had higher increases in the same amount of time & I consider 6 months minimum is “within a reasonable time”)

I might have a spending problem. I don’t think (?) I have a full blown addiction, but I’m cleaning out my closet and finding stuff that is few years old, still with the tags on, and lots of duplicates. I get a dopamine hit when I find a good deal and I’m wondering if it’s going too far. I can pay my bills, but I’m wasting a lot of $$ on things I don’t need. I have multiple family members who are/were addicts and hoarders and my own behavior is making me nervous. Any other big shoppers out there?
