I have always felt like this is an issue with so many different factors. Companies being used to the same old and not wanting to change. Not realizing that they could actually be making money with advertising to different groups. Then also I think some companies are worried about backlash today.
Pro
I think the answer is that those budgets will grow once more people in those demographics get into leadership positions. Those making the decisions probably don’t even think about minorities often enough in that sense. It needs to be intentional and that usually means people in those spaces.
