Please evaluate this initial offer for Apple ICT3. I think I was low balled, but I want to take more opinions. Currently Sr. MTS at VMware, received Apple ICT3. I was expecting to get to ICT4 but seems like team thinks upper end of ICT3 is more apt. Also, I think it is because I don’t have any counter offers yet.

Personally, I am enraged that the government thinks it has the right to ban TikTok. It is a freedom of speech issue. And they are only trying to ban TikTok because they think young people use it to share political ideals, like they won't move to another platform to do that. I hope every person in the house who voted for the ban loses their next re-election
I have a lot of strong feelings about it, but none related to it being a dream job for me personally. It’ll be interesting to see what happens moving forward and if this starts to impact other companies as well. Seems like a very slippery slope for me.
Never worked there but it's like most things. The government does things for the few. All companies sell your data and it is a freedom of speech issue.
I think it's overall stupid. My bet is that it's going to have ramifications where a few million Americans that use it as a main or supplementary source of income will becomes incomeless/unemployed due to that.
Is the government down for supporting them? Probably not. Also the time span allotted isn't enough for these people to build up their community on other platforms.
Also the fact that the most likely result if this does happen is those employed by TikTok in the US will be let go. This is adding to the layoff issues in tech that's happening now.
Personally I think it's a fools errand. I say this as someone who despises TikTok, it much like a drug. Seriously, stop scrolling. Many young people have the attention span of a squirrel and are exceeding narrow minded, the algorithms of TikTok feed this. It's well engineered to do what it does. Personally I would not work there if it was the last job on earth.
The problem is that this genie is out of the bottle. Probation, the "war on drugs", and so many other attempts to legislate morality or ban things have failed. You add on top of that the resilient and decentralized nature of the internet and good luck! You might as well try to ban porn.
I don't believe TikTok would be ban at all. I believe its something they use to keep our mind on it and not focus on what's really going on, there is always a distraction when they doing the worst
