Hi Fishes I have been interviewing with Microsoft for the role of Product Manager done with 4 rounds.
I got a mail that I'm rejected
I reached out to the HR Team they mentioned, role is on hold along with many other roles
Anyone know how long this freeze is going to be ? people who already cleared most of rounds will be preferred when freeze opens ?
Please guide me as I've put all my Hopes on this role.

Good question, I'm trying to figure that out myself 🙂
There's like 80% overlap in what I do and what product managers do so, in my case, none of my teams have product managers
I’m a program manager and honestly I see us as a hybrid between a product manager and a project manager in a lot of ways.
We typically only the overall PMO of a specific (or multiple) program(s), so developing project plans, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure their relevant deliverables are on time, a lot of chasing down updates/timing, etc.
It’s vague in general being honest, even on my team there’s a lot of questions of what our role actually means
Iunno - depends on the org but usually managing multiple projects/initiatives and reporting health of overall workstreams or product streams to execs.
Sometimes they are helpful for project management. I personally try to offload any and all actual daily/weekly status reports to PgM. I'm a bad person but it drains me.
The role varies, but as a TPM, a general arrangement is where the PRODUCT manager is managing all the customer and revenue driving things that go into the product roadmap and a PROGRAM manager is helping facilitate the overall end to end planning and execution of the product roadmap. Essentially, product mgt owns the what (prioritized req’ts) and Eng owns the how (technical implementation) and the PgM is the glue that should hold it all together e2e.
