So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?
Happy Republic Day 😊

Stay away from IPG rn - let things shake out at GM first.

Can’t really answer this but am wondering the same. Figure I’ll do NY/LA scene for a few more years then try to work at Doner or something. There’s just something special about having the Lions and Strohs around
Doner is toxic, I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy! They also pay like crap.
It’s kind of a weird time here.
McCann = Bad. Stay away.
MRM = Good. Hear lots of good things about the culture and work.
Commonwealth = TBD since they’re probably going up for review along with all other GM
Leo = Idk they’re pretty quiet but haven’t heard much good
Doner = Seems to have the most potential right now, imo.
The smaller shops around town seem to be doing pretty well. Work isn’t as glamorous but the work/life balance is.
MRM is NOT good right now. Layoffs and RFP with GM are not the vibe rn.
Look like all the GM shops are under review in Detroit according to this ad agency post. I haven’t heard anything in Chicago. Guess I’m not moving back to Detroit for a GM shop.

@SS1 a friend in Detroit said similar but they wonder how GM will pull this off since they depended on their agencies so much.
lol. This photo captures the Detroit essence pretty well. Lazy people.
That AI photo at the top is totally redic, it was never going to look like that 🤣🤣🤣
