Figure out what you want

Feel fulfilling

I started by checking what my company offers. I then started just checking around for jobs on LinkedIn. When I found something that sounded interesting, I’d ask HR or my Career Advisor about it and see if I could get placed on a project that was similar to that. I slowly started getting more of those projects and now I do those projects about 80% of the time.

i literally said out of curiosity? and i’m not struggling? are you okay? you sound unwell

Try jobs and see what you like

Hi Fishes,

Currently I am working as senior software engineer in a product base company. My tech stacks are React, Redux, Node, AWS and Graphql. I am thinking to switch the carrier in Block Chain or Data Science. Will it be a good decision to make the shift.

Total experience is 5 years.

If it's okay to shift. Could you please help me with the steps for preparation? I will really appreciate the help.

Thanks a lot.

UPDATE (RE: SoCal Assistant Controller Interview)

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)

Should you discuss salary range with an internal company recruiter prior to setting up an interview? With external recruiters it’s pretty easy to talk about the expected range. I am trying to avoid wasting all of our time if i get to the last interview and they are expecting a salary that is too low for me.

Big4 has clear trajectory and interesting work.

F100 has 14% bonus, perm remote, and immediate vesting 401k over 7%.

An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense.
