I guess it's a good question how I do it. I just go day by day and handle what's happening. I used to worry about the chaos, but eventually realized that some things in life are just bound to be chaotic. People deal with far worse circumstances, so I'm usually thankful to have a family and job to keep me busy. Even if sometimes it's a little too busy.
Same here, I feel like a chauffeur not a parent some days. I started doing ‘kid dates’ once a month where I take each child out alone, even if it’s just ice cream or a walk. Makes a huge difference!
It's a sick sad system of things. Life isn't supposed to be this way; especially for us women. Best of luck. I do hope you find some sort of harmony and balance in your lives.
I struggle with this all the time. Between work, school, and sports, it can feel like you’re just managing logistics instead of connecting with your kids. I’ve found that even small moments count, whether it’s a quick chat over dinner or a 10-minute walk. Quality time doesn’t have to be grand, it’s about presence!
Do the best that you can. Kids will understand. They need parents who are happy and positive. If you are stressed they will get stressed as well. Weekends are precious! It’s not easy to balance work and family but I’m grateful that I have a job.
