Make sure your meetings are necessary! If there are specific items to work through, make those clear in advance and allow others to contribute topics. I think sometimes meetings include people they don't need to and that can be frustrating if they have a lot on their plates already. You can also ask for input on the format and make sure other voices are represented and action items are reviewed and owned.
I second this! If you're using a meeting to distribute info (i.e. talk at people) instead of as a collaborative space where multiple people bring items to discuss, then that meeting should be an email, a post on SharePoint or a dashboard of some sort.
Otherwise, snacks. Handouts. PowerPoints. Meetings can be fun!
Agenda items and anything we need to see to discuss are in a PPT. Notes are captured in a shared OneNote notebook. Slides are posted to the notebook, so all content from the meeting (including attendance) is captured in one place
This is a great podcast on meetings

So for in person meetings, I use Word so I can print and hand it to people. But if it's online or a full presentation, PowerPoint.
Agenda based with assigned note takers etc. My company also uses an eos software now called bloom.

I like using One Note because you can write in text boxes. I will write minutes on the left and action items on the right. It’s easy to send them out via outlook after and you can make folders so I create different folders for projects with weekly notes. Plus the search feature scans all your notes ever made so you can easily find them.
