How do you feel about physician only lounges? Are PAs allowed to use them? Our hospital does but surprised to hear my friend tell me hers does not.

Our hospital it is called the medical staff lounge... we are included with access

like

Our hospital does. Seems ridiculous to not allow PAs in lounges when they allow PAs to work so autonomously throughout the Hospital. Unless of course they have PA only lounges too!

like

No ours is docs only. Kind of egregious

like

Physical lounge seems like a dated term. We have a medical staff lounge that it primarily used by MDs and APPs but open to all.

Lounge with free food for docs, PA, NP, CRNA ect

Do you all see a compelling future in your tax career? I’ll go first, I don’t see a compelling future working for a large PA firm in the long run because you have to work more as you move up. However, I do see a compelling future by using my knowledge and skills to open my own firm/business and work less hours as long as I make enough money which is $75k, or if I do work long hours, it’s because I want to.

Just accepted an offer with a psych startup. Not exactly the offer I was hoping for as I’m taking a slight pay cut ($73/hr) and it’s a 1099 position. They don’t even provide a computer or any other remote equipment for the completely remote position. Am I making a mistake? Also, can anyone chime in about being a 1099 employee?

Hello all,

I'm a PA in the PNW working for a private group staffing ED's in several hospitals. Recently the group has asked the PA's to take on a couple new roles (triaging and rapid track from triage i.e. straightforward ESI 4, 5). With these changes the PA's are considering asking for increased pay in the form of an addition of a COLA (cost of living adjustment) to our normal salary. Was wondering if any other PA's in the ED have these in their contracts and at what rate.

-Thanks
