In pittsburgh pa the salary is pretty low, starting in low 80s. Lifestyle all depends on specialty but I can tell you with 7 years experience I work 9-5 with no holidays, on call or weekends and make around 96k a year
Washington DC, great city with so much to do. New grad salary was 90k (low balled in my opinion). Switched hospital systems and bumped to 110k with my current job (there are 4 major hospital systems in the area so lots of opportunity for this). It’s been 2.5 years at this job and just bumped to 121k with the annual cost of living/performance based review. Cost of living is high but if you negotiate well you can make a good living here.
28 live in Atlanta as a critical care PA. Starting salary 105k with a residency attached. Post residency salary will bump to 130k if you choose nights or 117k if you choose weekend differential. 21 days PTO which we barely ever use unless it’s an extended trip. Only work 12 shifts a month (able to be scheduled however you want) .
Residency only 6 months
