What is the standard billing for a surgery PA? I read somewhere it’s 20 percent of what the MD bills for but I’m not sure how accurate that is?

It may depend on the type of surgery? Is the PA always first assist? Or are there residents involved too?

PA is first assist. No residents. Mostly GYN surgeries. Robotic, laparoscopic and open. And then c-section as well

Why don’t you ask your billing dept to give you what they are billing for you? I’m in the process of acquiring this for myself from mine. I’m not surgery. But interested.

It was my understanding at least in CA that hospitals are not allowed to bill for an assist if they provide. PA’s can bill but have heard not all insurances will cover an assist.

How many times has an interviewer no-showed and the recruiter profusely apologizing on their behalf?
Happened to me with Mindtree recruiter, for an IoT leadership position where the interviewing VP chose to no show twice… after which I thanked the recruiter that I was impressed by their book of busi-ness and that it was intimidating to be thinking about the prospect of working for Mindtree… as I’m too incapable for those performance standards… 😂😂

Hello all,

I'm a PA in the PNW working for a private group staffing ED's in several hospitals. Recently the group has asked the PA's to take on a couple new roles (triaging and rapid track from triage i.e. straightforward ESI 4, 5). With these changes the PA's are considering asking for increased pay in the form of an addition of a COLA (cost of living adjustment) to our normal salary. Was wondering if any other PA's in the ED have these in their contracts and at what rate.

-Thanks

Just accepted an offer with a psych startup. Not exactly the offer I was hoping for as I’m taking a slight pay cut ($73/hr) and it’s a 1099 position. I keep getting stuck on the 1099 piece because I’ll be working 40 hrs/wk, but have been told I’m not eligible to be a W2 employee. Needless to say, no benefits whatsoever. They don’t even provide a computer or any other remote equipment for the completely remote position. Am I making a mistake? Also, can anyone chime in about being a 1099 employee?
