Take 3 weeks off
Only works when you’re a consultant with down time
You have to understand that time off is part of your Total Compensation. Its your right to take time off, if they’re making you feel bad about taking time off, start considering other companies. Take all of it. If you die today, youll be replaced tomorrow.
Exactly what I was gonna say
I am frequently reminded that the PTO benefit is one of the best perks my company offers. Generous PTO is the main reason people stay. I don’t feel even slightly guilty knowing that I could be laid off tomorrow and no one would bat an eye. Take your PTO.
You are doing your company a favor by getting rest and stepping away from the grind. You will be more productive when you get back. Plus it’s part of your compensation. Do you feel guilty about taking your paycheck? Of course not…Then you shouldn’t feel guilty about time off.

Why do you feel guilty using your benefits? Do you feel guilty spending your salary or using your insurance?
If a company can't function without 1 person for a week or two, it's a bad company.
Consider it a test of your company's adaptability. Also realize if they know they can function without you for a long period, you're at some risk without the right connections when layoffs happen etc. Well, that's just a lowly analyst's view lol
No one gives a fuck. I can almost promise you you aren’t that important that you couldn’t take 5x what you are given. People that don’t take time actually get treated worse because people view you as not having boundaries / self respect or you manage your time poorly. Take it, always.
How does that even happen? Heaven forbid something should happen to you, but if it did, trust that the company will go on. Help wanted ad would be posted quicker than writing an obituary. You'd be better served taking your time off and protecting your mental health.

Guilt? Are you joking or trying to get a rile out of people? I maximize my time off and do whatever I can to enjoy my downtime. it ain't my company, so idgaf about it
You can’t do your job well if you never take time off. You need to have the ability to rest and reset. The Head of my Business line went on a six week honeymoon- it was annoying for everyone. Do you think he cared at all? Nope. Everyone just figured it out. Another boss I used to work for took one month every year to go back to Sweden with his wife and family. He didn’t work at all for that month. Everyone figured it out and stuff either got done or waited until he was back. You don’t owe your life to your job.
I don’t ever feel guilty for taking time off. I’ve earned that time and I, like every other employee, deserve time away from my job to spend time with family and recharge my batteries. I refuse to work for a company that uses guilt as a way to keep me from taking time off. If you have PTO, use it and don’t look back.
Take a course for anxiety! It will help immensely and give you the confidence to take the time you want/need. =)
Weneed downtime esp if u have kids
Why feel guilty? Everyone else is using their days off. It’s also part of your compensation so by not taking them is like not getting paid for 3 weeks.
Taking time off is incredibly important for our overall well-being and productivity. Gone are the days of old school thinking that encourages us to constantly grind without break. We now understand that taking regular breaks and vacations actually enhance our performance and creativity. It allows us to recharge, reduce stress, and prevent burnout. Stepping away from work gives us the opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones, pursue hobbies, and explore new experiences. So, let's embrace the modern mindset and prioritize our self-care by taking those well-deserved days off!
You miss the gossip if you work in the office. If you work at home what's different between a day off work and a day you are working?
I am a Senior Public Accountant & Corporate Controller-VP. I come into an existing business and straighten out any problems that I observe after a bit of time. My Accounting and business experience facilitates my ability to advise to improve productivity and profitability.
It is great to have pride and respect for your work. Please give that same level of pride and respect for your physical and mental well-being--take your PTO!
Are you doing something you don’t want discovered while you are out? I’m always suspicious of people who never take more than a couple days off at a time. Could be problematic for the firm in many ways.
You need to rest else it catches up with you. Don't forget that when you leave/die , you are immediately replaced. And if you think the business can't function without you there for a few days, there's something wrong with the business, not you
