I prefer to fight back and come over top of them in emails and emphasize that I did the work.
You don’t. You just keep working and stop worrying about the silly stuff like this.
A good Sr should say something to the effect of “with thanks to Person X…” when they send the doc up the chain. But with that said, I think the understanding is that everyone knows our work is collaborative so wouldn’t get hung up on this. Maybe that’s different than what’s going on here, but that’s at least my perspective as an M&A sr.
Agreed. A senior has no motivation to pretend that he/she did all the work without your contribution. From a partner’s perspective, it is actually important for a senior to know how to leverage junior resources and train people up.
Unless you are describing a situation where the senior has zero value add and just forwards your stuff directly upwards pretending it’s been reviewed by them, and you are not learning anything working with them - in which case you should just distance yourself from said senior and try to work with others instead.
