How do you introduce someone who is stuck on ‘The old HR way’ to what HR currently is now? Example: Focusing more on people and company culture instead of polices and counseling statements. I understand there needs to be a balance but we need to understand PEOPLE are our main priority.

How many years of bad habits does this person have? There seems to be a need for a coaching, reset conversation. It’s easy to lean toward the familiar because sometimes we need to live in that black and white area but living in the gray is much more conducive to being effective with employees and driving engagement. It’s a very fine line we walk as we advocate for the culture yet try to keep mitigate risk. These are long and frequent conversations that need to be had to redirect that behavior.

Are you discussing this in terms of various supervisors/managers or your internal HR leadership? These are two separate conversations regarding both the focus of conversation and how to approach.

One of my frustrations with myself (writing it out here so I can work on it) is that I will print out something that I need, such as a traffic collision report. I will read it without actually reading it. This results in spending time without actually retaining info. Does this happen to anyone else? Hi folks, my base location as per EY GDS offer letter is Noida but I want it to be Gurgaon as my hometown is in Jaipur and Gurgaon is more convenient for me.. I sent email to my senior manager and got response that you can use flexibility and work in any Gds office in India. However, I feel that in case my base location is not being changed, I should shift to Noida rather than Gurgaon as there might be any formalities or facilities which we need to avail in our base location only..
