I’m not sure how this will impact this bowl, but it is worth pointing out the need to assess whether there should be concern for those in this bowl. Read with your pen, not your eyes. Mark up the doc. Then once you’ve perused write a short summary. Then look at the original doc one last time with the eyes of opposing counsel looking to poke holes in your summary.
Yes, all the time. Totally agree with SC1, I will export certain docs to my iPad and highlight, write notes, etc in adobe or goodnotes. I’m remote so printing and scanning is a pain and this is just easier for me, but when I was in the office I would print a working copy to markup as a reviewed.
The other thing that helps is to make a bullet list as I go. Sometimes I’ll open a draft email if I don’t need the notes later and just need to use that as a tool to focus.
I do this literally all the time. I will read an entire article and not retain a single piece of information. Its alomost as though I didn't read it at all. So I have done what Senior Counsel 1 said above and read with my pen and mark all over the document. It really seems to help
