How is the work life balance in Citi?
Here is the scenario: Have 2 offers from IT MNCs and 1 from Citi. Citi's offer is the highest. Almost 5 lakhs diff in the fixed component. Although money is important, but I am also seeking a little balance with life. I was previously in ZS Associates and to be frank, life was hell. I am not looking to relive that phase again.
What are the daily actual working hours?
Shall I join Citi or let go it for a lower package offer?
Seeking honest advice here.

What agencies are hiring financial analyst
I’m new here. Can I please get some likes 😩
What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.

The "catch" is that there are easily hundreds of other, otherwise qualified applicants being referred to the hiring manager. Your resume has just seconds to stand out to a manager, SME, or panel as worth looking at further and considering an interview. It's all in the resume.
So stop doing that. Figure out who the key decision makers would be, or what band of an agency anyway. So targeted networking to get in touch with them. Get an internal direct referral before positions are even announced.
The other thing with govt is be working in govt already. It’s much easier to make an internal move. The only thing is it’s hard to jump a bunch of GS levels. So you want to come in at a decently high level. Or at least a level that’s compatible with the position you’re wanting.
Presumably you’re looking at contracting specialist positions more than contacting officer. And presumably you have some experience in either the subject matter or gov procurement. Things like PMP, Black Belt look interesting. There are about 3 different certs recognized in the field. If you happen to be in the reserves or if you land a different gov job, see if you are eligible to enroll in online courses from DAU. You can get at least a long way to those certs that way.
Maybe you need to adjust your resume. Such a high demand for 1102s, or maybe be willing to come in entry level because plenty of agencies will hire without any prior experience and train you up, a ladder position is pretty great and I think there are lots of those. Maybe look at relocating if you’re really series about it
Is this for the US gov or Canadian? I’m in the same boat. They pick from a pool but you have to be invited to take a test to join said pool. I always say that getting into the GOC is like getting into Fort Knox but then I see others who seem to put in half the work I do, getting in permanently, easily.
Do you have a degree? If so in what and grad date? Send are you on USAJOBS
Yes, I have an undergraduate dual degree 2017 (late bloomer) and I'm registered on USAJOBS.gov and visit quite often.
You need to enter through the Copper Cap or Palace Acquire internships if you qualify. Message me and I will help as best I can.
1102 Series requires a bachelor’s degree with at least 24 credit hours in business.
Inside perspective:
-Expect to come in at GS7 (or GS9 if you have a masters). Contracting is a very technical field. If you’re applying for higher grades, this is probably the catch.
-The certs you need are DAWIA or FAC-C. You need to have X years of experience doing contracting work to qualify for those certs. CPCM looks nice and will help you get hired, but don’t expect it to replace the DAWIA or FAC-C.
-All contracting officers are contract specialists. Not all contract specialists are contracting officers. There is no separate job series for contracting officers.
-As previously said, networking and using a good resume strategy are the secret sauces
-There are contracting roles that aren’t necessarily 1102 as well - our 1101 project managers do PM work during the acq lifecycle. A role with COR responsibilities could also be a great stepping stone.
-Internal details are amazing
Are you applying for positions that say 1102 under the series and grade, for example GS-1102-09 or GG-1102-11 or NH-1102-02
My agency is looking for more Contracting Officers. I would be happy to share your resume.
