D2- let me tell you from a woman’s perspective why I lose interest.... because most of the convos will be me trying to make a convo. For ex- “hey, hows your weekend going?” “Hi, good. You? (Note- The you may or may not happen) “oh mine is great. I just woke up and grabbing brunch. Hanging out with some friends today and getting ready for work tomorrow. Any fun plans?” “No.” at this point, i don’t respond back or he says “so what do you do?” “Oh I’m a Consultant working with my clients to help them optimize costs. What about yourself? (Usually try to tie back to his bio) “cool. I’m an accountant.”
NO DETAIL. MEN SPEAK WITH NO DETAIL. I WILL NOT KEEP ASKING YOU MORE AND MORE QUESTIONS FOR YOU TO LEARN TO SHARE MORE THAN THE BARE MINIMUM. if you’re not putting an effort, I won’t. So I lose interest and stop responding.
Or the guys who respond once after every couple of days. THATS NOT HOW A CONVO WORKS. We aren’t getting anywhere if I only know about your weekend over the course of 5 days.
If you’re open to dating non Muslims, coffee meets bagel is a good place to meet folks (I think there’s also a filter where you can select ‘only Muslims’). Most users are educated, decent and I’ve met great guys.

Oh God. Not minder. The women I've been matched with on there are so flakey. Perhaps we could come up with an app and maybe have better parameters.
I think I'd like to work with any of you on building something like that. But I can't code lol.

That's a good app. Has well educated folks. But then, I got tired of it coz they would ask right away if I was a citizen. Had got so tired of it that I finally just wrote it in my description that I'm not a citizen
CMB - can’t filter for religion, but you can put it in your preferences and it’ll curate your day’s picks and Discover to that. You can also play around with the stereotypically-Muslim ethnicity search options and that sometimes works.
I will say that with CMB, I noticed that the Muslim guys on there are in two major groups. There’s the group of guys that are already on Muzmatch/Minder/other Muslim dating apps and there’s another group of guys that identify as Muslim, but religion is not as high a priority for them. But agreed that everyone on there is pretty “normal” in the sense that they’re educated, employed, and seem decent.
D2- I feel like citizenship status is something important to put out there just given any status, legal, or location complications (as well as any disabilities, glaring problems, and dealbreakers, etc.). I get how frustrating that is bc that doesn’t define the kind of person you are, but at least it filters out folks who aren’t worth your time.
Agreed, im sure it is annoying for green card holders to have ppl lose interest because of that but honestly those things should be openly disclosed from the beginning to avoid those things. It sucks but a lot of us, including me, would rather not marry a non citizen
Honestly fear of being used for green cards and then dumped. As a woman, it’s worse for us, because society seems to think we expire once we get married.
I mean i wouldnt choose a non Muslim over a green card holder, but its a mix of lots awful experiences ppl have had with being used and also just the huge cultural and upbringing differences

It’s a NY meet-up because it was a group created by two New Yorkers for folks who live in NY. NE region meet ups are cool, but what are we organizing, when, lodging and travel logistics, program, etc. it just gets more complicated because no ones going to travel in for just a social gathering.
