Parenting question..my kid loves golf and swings his club daily after school. When his friend comes over, the friend tends to hit our house with golf balls. After being reprimanded a couple of times, the friend hit the house again and dented siding (again). I texted the mom asking to tell her kid not to hit golf balls at my house. I’m in mid 30s(single) about to get started with egg freezing and haven’t even discussed with my mom back home. Newly pregnant (~8wks) and unable to take my ADD medication unless I “think the risk of not taking it is more harmful to me than taking it could be to the baby”. (How do you even evaluate that?! Every study I’ve looked at is inconclusive.)

How do you cope with loss and grief? My father in law lost his battle with cancer this morning. It was sudden and unexpected. We lost my husband’s grandfather about a month ago, again to cancer, and he declined rapidly so that was somewhat unexpected, as well. Hey guys… I’m a case worker in child safety and I’m someone who loves being outdoors/dies at a desk all day. I’m hoping to organise that at least once a week I can go to a cafe and catch up on all my case notes that need to go into the system.

Took my 2 year old daughter to the dentist and she found 4 cavities. We’ve been teaching her to brush her teeth before bed & after meals(unsuccessfully) so far.
She’s needs sdf treatment according to the dentist, any suggestions on how to move after the treatment as it leaves black coverage on the teeth. (She’s too young for crowns and what not)

I am getting ready to send my 2 year old toddler to a toddler program next week for the first time. Have to fill out a form “bathroom waiver”, which is basically allowing teachers at the school to clean my child after a potty, including genital area. I feel uneasy about this but I know I have to let them… I assume all parents have signed such waiver?

We recently sleep trained our 7 month son. He went from waking up multiple times during night and taking only 30 minute naps 3 times during day (most cases nursed to sleep or rocked to sleep or took a drive) to sleeping 12 hours at night without interruption and two 2 hour naps and one 45 minutes nap during day. We both love that he is getting enough sleep and well rested on one hand. On the other hand, we are now wondering if he is sleeping way too much.. contd…

Consulting Baby Shower question - what was the best baby shower gift you ever received?

Every day of my life feels the same. The monotony of my job and taking care of the young kiddos is just the same over and over. I love my kids dearly (my job not so much) but I think this never ending repetition is impacting my mental health. Anyone else go through similar feelings or have any advice?

Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Cost aside, is this feasible / worthwhile to go thru the effort / finding the right fit, only for 4 months?

First time Dad and my 15 month old keeps running up the stairs at my in-laws place and they keep encouraging it. Stairs are almost 10 inches high with nothing underneath and I’m worried that he might slip and fall in between the stairs. My FIL is a bit of a know-it-all and keeps insisting it’s safe and I don’t agree. What do I do? Don’t want to fight the entire house full of people about this and kid enjoys it too much and cries a lot if I/we prevent him from climbing

Desperate parent of an almost 4 year old here.

Our toddler isn't quite done with potty training. He knows to run to the potty to pee, but poops are almost always an accident. We are working with a pediatric GI to resolve chronic constipation issues + rewards for timely pooping.

My son's daycare is just being a pain and constantly sending emails reminding us how tough it is on the teachers / staff, despite us telling them how much we're trying.

Any parents who can relate or offer guidance?
