How do you value a SPAC that has an acquisition target identified? Shouldn’t the market cap of the SPAC = ownership interest in the acquisition x market value of acquisition x some risk %? What am I missing

The market value of the acquisition target is not established on a public market. You could retrieve some information to come up with your own value in SEC filings depending on how close the deal is to closing. There is also risk deal doesn’t crystallize if it falls through.

There usually is an investor slide that shows the market cap post spac. Valuation is a different animals as these are all valued at perfection and has been corrected in last few months

How do you handle aggressive, hard-ass leadership?

I was on a group strategy call and our VP says "OK *account manager* (me), we have decided that your new focus needs to be electronics, do you understand that?" He said it in a very stern tone of voice. Well of course I understand it because it was my f*cking idea that I brought to his attention prior to Christmas.

IMO, this guy does nothing. He steals the ideas of his team members and then acts like tyrant in front of people.

I'd love to refer you to roles Avanade Dm me with your resume and the job posting.

Anyone done a detox/yoga retreat around the East coast?

I’ve gotten asked how I deal with feedback in two different interviews recently. Anyone have an idea of what a good answer would be? I panicked and said something about paying close attention to redlines and proactively attempting to improve my legal writing but I’m not sure that’s what they’re looking for.

What’s the best HR certification? I’m looking to move to a generalist role from DLS (not with Amazon). I’ve been in disability for the past four years though so I think getting PHR/SHRM would be helpful for transition.

Why platinum and no longer platinum elite?

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

Hi Guys,

I appreciate your views on Scaler Academy data science course. The course fees is around 3 lakhs and duration of this course is 12 months. I belongs to Non IT field, is it possible to become a Data Scientist for the one who having non IT background?

How much weight would you give to an agency allowing permanent remote and not mandating days in-office every week, though it's open for when you need it?

If your agency requires coming back 3 days a week, and a recruiter from another offering permanent remote reaches out, does it sway you?

Any advice on renegotiating my salary? I’m a compounding pharmacist and i also float to other stores while also being solely responsible for the compounding pharmacy. I perform MTMs for 6 or so stores and am now a being asked to other projects. I originally signed on to only do compounding and occasionally fill in at other stores when needed. I have another offer from a hospital that is significantly higher than what i am being paid now. Would just like some pointers on this kind of conversation

I need an analytics manager to join my team in Chicago and recruiters have been slacking. If you’re interested shoot me a message.

I would love to start teaching and learning outside the classroom walls. I would like to start working with middle school U.S. SS classes in other parts of the US. I'm in NJ, let me know if interested

My M&A friends in the trenches: what tools do you use to keep track of your deals and the many emails that come in on a daily basis?

Additional Posts in SPACs

Trying to grow this bowl. Not a lot of contributors but huge room for big pays coming. Good luck all. IBM it’s about to get fun

Where is everyone? Let’s get some ideas flowing.

Up 200% on CCIV warrants and no DA or LOI yet 🥴

Honestly, I am sitting over here in Europe and despite I work in M&A Tax (yes, I know not a real finance thing), I have no idea how to find these awesome SPACs. TELL ME please.

Tax Senior Manager and Bowl Creator have thrown out WPF, SVOK, and AVAN recently. With these all barely above $10 (and SVOK actually temporarily below), what’s the downside to investing in these? Am I missing something? Don’t they offer you the opportunity to sell back the shares at $10 around the merge date? So max loss would be $0.12 per share on WPF (at current pricing) and $0.19 per share on AVAN?

Are there other SPAC plays that people like that seem like no brainers at these levels?

What is happening with GHIV is it a good time to buy?

SPAC bubbles are popping everywhere. Premiums being pulled out here pre deals. Becareful out there. None are safe. I will be selling puts in psth if it opens below 28

Help needed to evaluate if IPOE is a good buy here or wait for a pull back. Current market cap of IPOE = 1.6b they are merging with SoFI and the valuation is 8.5b. After the merge what would be the total market cap?

Warrants or shares and why?

Who’s not buying BFT?

Looking for additional bowl managers. I created the bowl but don’t have enough time. Anybody interested?

Spacs on sale. Buy good management

Bought a larger amount of FTOC warrants. 750mm checkbook fintech play with great mgmt.

PSTH - keep an eye on this one. Up 50% here from NAV. Not sure ackman will pick a sexy name that drives momentum. Either way, big money behind this one and hoping for a good deal sooner than later

I’m out all of my ipoe shares here from $11. Still have some ipof in play too

Best pre-announcement SPACs

I like to park my money in some of these. Used to be a major winning strategy, now it seems less consistent but still. Holding on to SOAC, JWS and IPOC. I know PSTH and IPOB seem strong as well, any others you really like, and why?

IPOB is up 133% on the year. Would you buy IPOC right now as it’s only up 5%?

Also added back IPOF this morning. Chamath is too much of a promoter to let this one die. Keeping an eye on IPOE and open for further downside
