It’s a slow process. I have fine hair and I used wash daily. I go every 3rd day. Don’t use dry shampoo bc it Will damage your hair over time.
It will?? 😩
Tie your hair in a bun and put a shower cap on. Somehow for me hair wash and shower are two separate things. Like face wash and shower are - you don’t have to take a shower when you wash your face; so you don’t have to wash your hair when you shower.
As far as how the hair look - it’s based on your personal comfort. I typically wash my hair twice a week sometimes once - in which case I’m rocking a ponytail sometimes lol
Yeah I suppose I need to figure out a “nice” way to wear my hair up at work once a week to get away with 3rd day hair 😂
Coach
I used to wash my hair every day and now it is about once per week. I just did it and my hair went along with it.
Also, get a good shampoo/conditioner and do a weekly mask on your hair. That is what I do.
This is what I use
I use all Oribe and now I only need to wash my hair like once every 4 days
Sadly no but honestly one bottle of the shampoo lasts me like over 6 months! I have very long hair and I still only need a little as it’s concentrated. They also have an online annual sale in the fall!
My hair is shoulder length and is lightly layered on the sides. I grab my hair in the back, twist upward, then secure with a wide clip horizontally. I leave the ends out so that they hang down somewhat and cover the clip. I generally don’t like hair in my face, but you could pull out a few face-framing pieces.
This is a perfect style for WFH and running errands on the weekends. I also wear a shower cap in the shower in between shampoos.
Yeah, agree with not using dry shampoos - looks like dirt anyway.
It takes time to train your hair. Also, IGK charcoal dry shampoo is awesome.
It takes time to train your hair, I was a daily washer until about 8 months ago. Start slow and try washing every other day and keep working to expand the time between. Dry shampoo will be key during this process.
In nights where my hair seems like it's getting greasy I put dry shampoo in my hair before I go to bed and then put a satin cap on when sleeping. At night, I use Hairstorys dry shampoo, and during the day, I use batiste dry shampoo. I only use dry shampoo when its really needed. I also braid my hair at night, which helps it look styled during the week. I now can go a full week in between washing.
Ballerina buns are a great hairstyle. Or use headband and hats to cover up greasy roots. YouTube, Instagram and TikTok have tons of great braid and hairstyle tutorials.
Also, one idea is a dry texture spray (A good one is Design Me Puff Me Spray in a pink bottle). It revives your hair, covers up grease and makes it a little wavy if you scrunch it.
I also found if I blow dry my hair, I can go longer between washes 🤷♀️
Start with extending on the weekends so you don’t feel as weird during the week
French braids into a bun or low pony - it looks intricate and purposeful, and the braided texture holds together better on dirtier hair.
It is hard to get away with it in winter time due to hat which makes hair even more dirtier. I wash my hair twice a week. Been doing that for years. It is going to take some time to get used to. I echo what everyone has said about good shampoo/conditioner. I would choose something less chemical. Also, you can try different nourishing hair masks. Helps too.
I ordered the jolie! See if it does anything different for the next few weeks/months! Vs spending a lot more money upfront for an actual filter on our water tank.
