How hard is it to go from E3 -> E4? And those who got E4 what were the things you did or were asked to do specifically?

I got promoted to E3 last year and I right now have an overall exp of 8 yrs and 3 yrs at CIEC.

Own the architecture, lead the team in making technical decisions, influence the team at epic or roadmap level - management should have confidence that you can deliver an epic by yourself, break down and delegate epics to the team, explain complex things in simple language so that non tech people (eg product managers) can understand easily, create easy-to-understand technical documentation, unblock the team when they get blocked, understand the end-to-end architecture of your product, create visibility by participating in labweeks, brown bag sessions, cross team collaboration, etc. All these are some of the ways through which you can create a trust with the management, and make them believe you are eligible for E4. Once you check most of these boxes, your YoE would be secondary.

I worked 2m for startup company and absconded due to bitter experience from Jun'21 - July'21 , later immediately joined to another company Aug'21 to present(under notice period). Now I got offer with comcast and will moving on Jan'23. I'm bit worried because I don't have releiving letter for those 2m but all other records are clear with me(includes to company I'm currently serving notice period). I yet to reveal this 2m to my Hr.
