No, its a cash grab
I would avoid it all together tbh. There is 0 motivation to see you succeed and all the motivation to just take your money. Remember, the people claiming to be able to help have full time jobs and are not in the business of coaching, so whether you felt better-prepared or not after a session with one of them, they don't give 2 fs as long as they get paid
One huge value-add from coaching is that they point out weak areas you have that other peers wouldn’t be able to pick up.
So ideally you would get coaching, do a ton of free practices to work on those areas —> get coaching again to help pinpoint other weak areas. It takes time to work on your weak areas / develop those habits and you would rather work on them with a peer, rather than have a coach repeatedly point out the same mistakes.
TLDR: space out your coaching sessions very wide apart
We can case together for free lol
OP Thats a much better deal right here as long you keep in mind that you're both not pros, and are trying to exercise within reasonable means
I have done a few sessions. They will save you a lot of time.
Rather than guess what you need to focus on and decide which resources out of the hundreds available you should study from, they provide all of this to you. The coach you choose should have been an interviewer themselves and they can give you direct, targeted feedback that frankly most other people can’t give you because they don’t know to look for it. Only exception for people who can give feedback to close to this level are people who have been working at these firms for a minimum of 2 years.
I constantly case with people on preplounge, and they give terrible feedback, while also thinking I am good at casing. When I case with the coach or other coachees, there are always a minimum of 5+ targeted things to work on that will put you ahead of everyone else.
