Very if you live in the city. Didn't have a car once for 6 months...before the days of Lyft/Uber. Also, I have an 8 year old car with less than 10k (yes ten thousand) miles on it. Mostly from a few road trips, sometimes driving to the airport, and some shopping.
Agree it’s livable for about 6 months or maybe a year...
Lived without a car and found it eventually was limiting what I was able to do and where I was going.
The buses are not as reliable as other cities and there’s not always a direct routes to where you want to go. Additionally, depending on when and where you’re going, buses are completely full from Amazon or other offices or I felt very uncomfortable as you could watch drug deals or sat next to strung out drug addict.
Also depending on your neighborhood, walking a couple of Neighborhoods over is really hard due to all of the hills!
Outside the city, not so much (same as anywhere else in the US outside of the biggest cities)
I've been living here in Redmond for a year and I'm Seattle for 5 months now. I order groceries online and for short immediate car need, i just use Gig cars and for longer use, i take Avis rental with Microsofts awesome discounts. It's limiting, but it's more than livable. Specially when you consider 200 parking per month in downtown areas
How much would you say on average a gig car costs to rent? Let’s say for a day of use
