They’re striking for funds for the kids who need it the most - the district stripped out funding for special education needs among other things. I for one am happy to be picketing to help support everyone in our district, especially those most often marginalized by bad policies.

I agree with you! I think this is def something we should all be able to get behind.

they just tack it on end of year so just don’t book vacay immediately after original last day

Amazing how Seattle is a single-party city (all Democrat), and still manages to be inefficient and get nothing done

Seattle is a case-study in how to be ineffective at everything in government. It’s absolutely astounding how badly run this place is.

nobody gon call out the teachers for being selfish pricks who strike every other year?

like

You think they’re being selfish pricks for asking for livable wages? Wow. You should look at teacher salaries, and then factor in that they buy their own supplies. If you still think they’re being selfish pricks, go ahead and enroll your kids in private schools.

Anecdotal, and I’m all for paying “good” teachers more… but I had teachers making over $90k in 2007 that did nothing but have us watch CSI in class. They work 6.5hrs a day, and get summers off. Get rid of tenure and I’m for better wages. But the immunity trash teachers get is ridiculous.

I see your point here

I know, that's what I'm worried about. Honestly, I'd just pull the kids out early

Any ideas on the pay range for the US Regional Meetings Lead Amgen? I’ve been agency based for quite a long time. I have worked with Amgen previously, currently serving another pharma, but looking to make the leap to the client side. Trying to see if the pay would be worth it at this juncture.
