Hello ZSers,
I have been shortlisted for AC role and my HR discussion is scheduled next week.
1. Need some insights on the maximum and minimum ctc (fixed and variable) that can be offered for 3 yoe (all relevant) . My current ctc is 7.2 (6.5 fixed) . Tech stack - Big data and AWS developer.
2. Is there any joining bonus. If yes , what should be the ask.
Any inputs will be very helpful for me to go with my expectations to the HR. Thanks!

Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

I just moved from the east coast for a job and it’s been the worst experience of my life. I can’t wait to finish out the year and move back to the east coast. The homeless and drug situation is nothing like what i’ve seen in any of the major cities on the east coast. It’s expensive and you don’t get the same quality of life or amenities that you would expect. Poorly managed city, I would try it out for a month before uprooting your life.
What city you moved from and to? Do you have family with kids etc?
I’m moving full-time this summer, but spent 10 weeks living in Capitol Hill last summer, and enjoyed it enough to go back. High level summary.
Pros:
Access and views of nature is 100x anything in NJ/NY
Cheaper than Manhattan, not too far off Brooklyn/Queens/JC
Food here is excellent as well, maybe not the pizza/bagels, but Asian food + seafood is top notch
Neighborhoods here feel very different, so you can spend a day at breweries in Ballard, dinner and drinks in Capitol Hill, and exploring shops in pike place
Great parks all over the city
Way less income tax
Seattle summer is amazing
Cons:
Way more homeless (although new mayor seems to be one who is cleaning stuff up)
Public transport isn’t as good (only one subway line and it’s not 24/7)
Not cheap, food and parking and drinks are not at manhattan level but not far off
Weather outside summer is dreary
City is pretty isolated, you have Vancouver 3 hours north and Portland 3 hours south, nothing like having Philly, dc, Boston, Baltimore (idk if you’d wanna go there though hah) all super close
Airport doesn’t have as many direct intl flights
Time zones make watching some things a pain
I moved from ny 2.5 years ago. Feel free to dm.
