How long does it take to hear back from the hiring recruiter/manager after completing post interview questionnaires? From what I’ve been told I should expect a offer letter soon but I understand nothing is promised until I get it on paper lol. The recruiter I’ve been working with has been very unresponsive. I have another job offer(small company) but I much rather work with Citi. Any tips on how to proceed? Just wait it out? Reach out to the recruiters manager (don’t like this option)?

I recently moved from litigation to transactional and am struggling to reach billable targets. In litigation it was no problem hitting 1800+ hours but don’t see how I’m going to come anywhere close to that in a transactional role.

I’m mostly sitting around all day waiting for work that doesn’t take long to complete (though at my desk for 10-12 hours/day). Is this normal? Suggestions on how to keep busy other than asking for work and having good work product?

Transitioning from com. lit into tax controversy?

I have a tax LLM and started my career out of law school doing M&A tax at a big4. After 9 months, I got out of big4 transactional hell and into whatever litigation I could find. I now practice commercial lit but would welcome the opportunity to eventually transition into tax controversy (which I wasn’t able to do before). Does my commercial litigation “break” hurt my prospect? How long can I stay in com lit without hurting my chances even more?
