How long into practice before someone should be competent to handle a seven figure marital estate (business, maintenance/alimony, and personal property) solo (without supervision from a more experienced attorney)?

Is there anything inherently sketchy about an apartment with a mandatory lease term of over a year (eg 15 or 18 months)? I assume they just want to lock us down for longer, but committing to a place for that long is a little daunting

I’m a second year associate at a small, but reputable firm. My caseload is almost entirely made up of clients who were referred to one of the partners but the partners are too busy so I end up taking the case. The clients are told up front that an associate, rather than a partner will be taking his/her case. What’s a good starting salary for a newer attorney? I’ve never worked anywhere but in the public sector (even before becoming an attorney). I currently clerk for a judge and now am up to $44k as of July 1. I’m in KY. I’ve recently had a couple attorneys reach out to me about joining their practice. How often do you all review your rates? I’m 6 months into partnership and my rate is the same as it was two years ago when I started at this firm as a 4th year (currently had a license just over 6 years and the 5.5 I’ve been in practice are all domestic relations)

What are your client follow-up/communication policies or practices? I’m hearing more and more that clients don’t like the long periods of time with little to no contact. From my perspective, since I bill for my time, unless I have an update or need something, I don’t initiate a call. Also, clients hold on to important info and don’t initiate a call cause they’re waiting for me to communicate with them.

Working on a divorce where the father is claiming that he is unemployed because of the previous administration’s actions with DACA (he was brought to the States as a child). I know that the memo rescinding DACA was ultimately vacated—but OC is unsure whether this would count as voluntary unemployment for child support purposes. I believe it does as the application period to renew DACA benefits was reopened in 2020. Thoughts?
