I often find that trading stocks is a waste of time and money. Based on my understanding, at the end of the year, you get taxed like 40% on your short term gains. Is it really worth it?
ETFs and Index’s are the way to go for me. That way, I can focus on increasing my income to invest more into those investment vehicles.
OP - I sell covered calls / cash secured puts semi consistently for stocks I'd be ok to own if assigned (think AAPL, MSFT) Make a decent profit.
Sure. If you want some training resources on it, check out optionalpha or the free courses in TD ameritrade (need an account).
Why not trade options?
I’ve done some education about options, and have in the past, but found it easier to lose money than make it. I mostly use the options market as a data point to assess and maybe hedge around earnings.
