I'm easily doing over 50, whether it's busy season or not.
Probably like 30 on average. Switch to private industry.
I cut off at 50 hours all year round. If my employer can't be happy with a 10-hour day or me working weekends, they're probably asking too much.
Sometimes, I have to work over, but that's an exception and not the norm.
30-ish. I'm in industry. I used to work much more but I'm in my delegating era.
40-45ish outside of Q1 as a controller in industry. When I work is pretty flexible though.
I go to the office 45 - 55 hours per week, out of that I go out to lunch for about an hour each day, I periodically walk around to the other offices and chat with coworkers anywhere from 10 minute to an hour. I get snacks and drinks throughout the day, the rest of it i am working, or texting my kids back. I rarely work nights and never weekends, but I do keep a notebook to jot down things or send myself a teams message when something pops in my head so i can follow up when I get back to the office., so maybe add another 15- 30 minutes a week. I usually sit in about 6 hours of meetings every day, so a total of 15-20 actual working hours + 30 hours of meetings. I could work more, I self regulate and try to not overpromise.
I think I billed 6 hours last week lol… busy season is over, time for me and my teams to relax.
I was hired for 45, I do 45 regularly and 50ish in the busy season. Plan your year out and prep what you can when it's slow so you're not overwhelmed during the busy times. There's no emergencies in accounting and we don't get a bonus, overtime pay, better raises, or any other incentive so why would I kill myself?
