I took the UBE in 2018 and passed with flying colors. I just took the FL bar and failed by .5 a point. Hopefully only one more time for me.
Passed FL portion first time, then failed MBE twice before finally passing 🙏🏼 it took a huge toll on my mental health and exacerbated my imposter syndrome and RSD, but alas, what can I do but continue carrying on and soaking up being licensed as much as I can.
I took FL and passed on the first try. But I know plenty of people who took it and failed the first time, second, and third. I have two friends who passed on their fourth try. Don’t give up! I am a firm believer that you need to be in a good place mentally before bar prep. Find a therapist for your bar prep time (and possibly after!).
I passed the Florida and the UBE on the first try. It’s normal to be nervous. It’s also normal to not pass it on the first try. I have friends who took years to become bar members, they are all doing great now.
It’s very important to prep especially if you take the Florida bar and need to know federal and state law. But don’t beat yourself up when you are having bad study days or take a few days off. I got sick while studying for the Florida bar and was out for days. When I took the UBE, I was working full time so my study schedule looked so different. But just stick to a good schedule that works for you and that you can maintain!
You won’t get every question right and the graded essays are brutal. But you don’t need to get everything right on the bar.
You will end up guessing a few questions so it’s important that you remain confident and calm.
I know it's only anecdotal, but I failed Florida the first time and have had a great career thus far. I've never been asked about it by any potential employer either.
