I think that’s perfect timing to make a move. My old boss always said 5-8 years was the sweet spot. I did 6 years agency side and wouldn’t have wanted to leave any sooner since learning stalls in-house, but now I’m hiring for senior roles on my in-house team and I want someone with some in-house experience because I need them to be able to deal with internal politics.

Helpful, thank you! That’s my fear, if I stay agency too long, I won’t be qualified for more senior roles in house. So this is very helpful.
From folks I've talked to that seems to be the sweet spot. I feel like anywhere from a Senior Manager-VP level is a good time to go in house to make a move to a good in-house level from what I've noticed from people I work with.

This is validating, thank you.
