How much do you spend on wedding gifts? I have been invited to 2 upcoming weddings and the registry goes from $50-$400. If I bring someone what is the correct price range to target?

Pick an item off of the registry based on what you’re comfortable spending

Usually registeries are for wedding showers and most people give cash at the wedding. How much is a controversial topic. I try to figure out what the “per head” food/beverage cost is (estimate based on how nice the venue is) and gift that amount for me and my guests if it’s a close friend or family member I may gift more.

Thanks! I recently got married and didn’t have a shower or registry, but I always wanna be careful when I go to other people’s weddings because I know it’s a norm. I just have been on a tiiight budget lately and trying to balance that against getting a sufficient gift (registry or cash).

Almost every bride and groom would say that they want you at the wedding no matter how big the gift is. So give whatever fits in your budget.

It may seem obvious, but in my experience partners value trial experience over anything else, so get it however you can. For example, my firm will favor a former prosecutor who has seen the courtroom a lot but has no civil litigation experience (not even a depo) over a seasoned associate who has only second chaired cases with a partner but hasn’t tried a case. Even trying a case and losing gives you credibility at my firm because you still did it.

I’ve been a family caregiver for four years, and now look to return to the workforce. I realize that this will be a bit difficult, especially during these economic conditions, plus other factors, such as being an older employee, etc. I updated my account with a few job sites, adding on the fact that I took time off to care for a family member. I would appreciate some advice, anything that would be helpful.

Or if the only way to increase my base pay is to get promoted to manager? Thanks for your help!
