Sure you can ask but honestly, do you really think they’ll help you?

This bowl really thinks cops actually do anything 🤣
I saw a TikTok this happened with someone’s iPhone and the cops went in to retrieve it once the owner was outside.

I wouldn’t call the cops. Not only will they likely do nothing, having the cops pull up to your house to ask for a wallet you found randomly just living your life is extreme. Who knows, maybe the people were going to call you? Take my advice with a grain of salt, I’m a black woman who doesn’t believe in calling the cops for non-emergency things that might wind up hurting other black people. Just being honest!
I would cancel all of the cards. If you feel it’s worth it, go to the house and ask nicely and non-accusatorily for it back so you don’t have to replace things like your ID. If it’s really worth the trouble, you could do this first then call the cops to go get it if they’re not cooperative?
Idk, maybe this is bad advice. It’s pretty dependent on your social risk tolerance. Worst case scenario, you just do what anyone else who loses their wallet does!
Google, chill. The wallet was lost, not stolen. I figured if OP has a wallet tracker, then presumably it’s to be able to go get a lost wallet. Was the point of a wallet tracker to be able to call the police on someone who found (not stole) a lost wallet? If so, then this post shouldn’t have been made bc the answer already exists. If the default is not “call the police,” then it’s within the realm of possibility that the point of the wallet tracker is so that OP can go find a lost wallet. They don’t have to, they’re an adult who lives in NYC and can make choices about what does / doesn’t feel safe for themselves.
Just go to the house and ask for your wallet. 😈
No stalk the person with your wallet but make sure to cancel all your credit cards

You can file a police report and include that fact in the report. I doubt they’ll make it their top priority but depending on the value of the contents they may follow up in a few days
I never had to call the police for anything but are they that bad 😳
They are very lazy due to the high consume of donuts

File a complaint and point that out. If you go to that Queens precinct you might have better luck

The police have more important things to worry about. I would file a report, cancel your cards, etc., as others suggested. At least you’ll have a record of your cards were used, etc. I’m more curious how your wallet got there in the first place!
