I would keep a note of your achievements in whatever role you're currently in. But I don't think you need to update your resume more often than things are actually changing. So if you have a big accomplishment, add that in. But don't just go tweak you resume because it's on your calendar or something. You know when it needs an update
Yes!! I keep a folder of achievements in my personal Google drive to have on hand to reference when I’m updating my resume (notable client feedback, positive results, headlines, etc). But don’t do a great job of always updating it in a timely manner - unless I force myself to look at it annually. So gotta get better at adding in achievements in more real time!
I take a look at my resume now and then just to see if it needs any polishing. There's always something I can do to tweak it. I just like to have it ready at all times, so if I see something and I want to apply right away I don't have to think about it, I can just fire it off.
Agreed!! I like having a (mostly) updated version ready so if a job comes up, I can jump on it
Depends if I'm in an "actively applying" phase.
I probably do a complete overhaul after I've gotten a promotion or a deeper look at it once per year. That said, I'm constantly making adjustments based on roles I'm applying to.
Usually once a year as well but lately it has been more. I am trying to find a new role so it has been updated more frequently. If I wasn't looking for a job now though it would probably be once a year.
Once I get a new job, I promised myself I’d do it quarterly because eff this noise ever again.
