Hi Fishes, I have received an offer from Barclays for AVP position. But the role discussed during interview was for Tech Delivery Manager whereas the offer letter mentions it as Tech Delivery Lead. Can you guys please suggest if it is the same role or should I request recruiter to get the role updated? Reason why i resigned from barclays
Personal Opinion - I would resign and start looking for another job without hesitating for a minute. I completely understand people have responsibilities and cannot easily arrive at this decision. My opinion is driven from the fact that I was in similar spot couple times in the past and did try to make it work but results were never good. Basically, I feel compromising your well being for anything in the world is not worth it. I totally feel you, tough situation. But keep your head high and stay strong. Wish you the best.

What do you mean by toxic? Does your manager gives you more work then expected? Or there is no recognition at all for your work? Or your manager takes credit for all your good work? Or your manager is rude , givinv you little to no support?
Depends above are sime examples but you could have different toxic behaviour from your manager?
I am in same situation where i believe my manager does not want me to grow, i feel my manager is insecure, but i try to ignore manager's bahaviour focus on my work, i try to deliver best as I can and make sure I make all the good work visible over the email copying all my stake holders. That way I still get the progress i expect for my work.

there is no ally here. too much politics. everyone is bad mouthing the other one. i have never ever seen such a toxic work culture
Keep proof of everything
Keep proof of all your conversations. Do most of your work over email and remain cordial. Do NOT confide in him. When you've got enough proof, reach out for a manager swap
manager’s manager is so closely knit with him. not sure how to go about manager swap. both of them are tenured.

In my previous firm FIS global—i had a very toxic senior manager, hell toxic, rude behaviour, taking advantage of other’s work in scrum ceremonies.
I simply resigned…i was confident on my skills..so i got another opportunity.
By leaving. Its India my friend, you don't have any rights and you are here to get exploited by Employer,government,Government employes.
Only thing in your hands is who do you want to exploit you?
