Not great but you are leaving so no need to burn the bridge. Be diplomatic and leave on a good note
Word it diplomatically as you see fit. If there are positive and negative things to be said, say the positives publicly and say the negatives privately (exit interview if you have one or other seniors)
That's showbiz. Writing a bitter or icy leaving message won't look good on them and won't look good on you either. You can write a message with a lot of positive affect without saying much about the team. Just praise the friends you've made and the many memories etc
If it took you until SM level to realise that, you must have been pretty well treated and lucky.
I'd be more annoyed about my partner thinking I might be dumb enough to write a dramatic departing message, but he must have been burnt in the past.
I think if honesty is part of your values and they’re controlling your leaving messaging you have two choices:
- Irish exit - send no message at all
- say it’s your last day, state facts I.e ‘after X years, X number of projects, X client offices visited today will be my last day. For anybody who would like to stay in touch, please reach me at … Best wishes to you’
There is usually someone/thing at the firm which is positive - you can be effusive about your peers/start class or say you really enjoyed the energy your junior consultants brought to the team or something even if you despise the firm/management. Just one or two sentences along those lines checks the box imo
Look if you’re asking this question, partner dude means nothing to you in the future, the bridge is already burnt.
Just say nice stuff about the other people and make it overall positive because they did nothing to you. You can leave partner dude and his lieutenants out if you like, the message will land.

Don’t send a message. If the company wants to send one on your behalf, let them but ensure you are allowed to proofread it first.
I'd hate it, but it would be no skin off my nose to just go with it - if it's not completely false, it's not worth the additional aggro resisting might bring.
