Can't clump Houston together with Dallas. Very different markets. Susman is king in Houston (followed by Gibbs, Yetter, etc.). Gibson is top dog in Dallas (followed by a collection of biglaw firms and Lynn Pinker). Winston had an unusually strong lit practice in Dallas, but they just got hollowed out by K&S of all places.
Not sure that's accurate. Allyson Ho is the co-chair of the entire firm's appellate practice. Trey Cox's arrival has in particular supercharged the office. The office has more circuit clerks than all other biglaw firms in the city combined (by a large margin).
There's so many boutiques that do lit that it hard to do top 10. I'd put many boutiques at the same level as RF.
If that’s in response to my comment about Gibson, I didn’t mean to say there was, just that the vibe working there will be different because it’s one office in a large national firm, rather than only having a Houston office.
Susman is a tier above the rest. Reynolds may be a slight tier below. Everyone else would put in between dependent on nature of the case and partners involved
