Bain & Company Hello, I received an offer as a Senior Practice Manager at Bain. The profit sharing range is 0-12% in the offer letter. Is it typical to receive the midpoint (6%)? Also, what do the annual salary increases typically look like? Any insights are much appreciated. Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company

This is so awful. Age means experience and maturity, well roundedness with insight and thoughtful perspective and ideas.
Going back to school, earning new degrees, getting new certifications is impressive, shows energy, effort, eagerness to learn and openness to new things.
Something is really wrong with any society that doesn’t value age and experience. And everyone deserves opportunities to earn an income to survive.
Not only are people feeling pressure to work longer now and push off retirement, it’s also so much harder to get hired starting in the 50s.
What are people supposed to do?
It’s a crisis.
I really want to do something to help and change this.
Keep trying. Market is tough right now. Im having a tough time because of location and partly age but those that are interviewing are WAY lowballing. I got higher pay when I started 25+ years ago.
I have been hearing this for just too long now... the market is tough right now. When is it supposed to get any better? I have bills to pay, and have a load of experience to offer a prospective employer, but the competition still remains. I get a lot of attention, but never the OFFER. It is real disappointing, but no one seems to care. If you say that you have the experience- they want a younger type person. If you are a younger person - they want more experience. I wish these employers would make up their minds already.

63 here and in the same boat. At this point I’m just trying to find something that pays more than unemployment.
Right-o ! Retail is just too far out of the question. I can't do those late hours any more. I need a 9-5 office type position, but no one has snacked me up yet. Been looking for a long time.
Sir, I know you want to get back to work and prove to yourself that you still have a lot to offer. But honestly, with your potential, why not build something of your own? I believe you have the ability to succeed in business or investments and create opportunities for yourself rather than working for someone else. Whatever path you choose, I'm confident you can excel at it if you put your mind to it.
You sound like a real go-getter. Kudos to you for getting some extra training. It is not easy to go back to school. I too, am feeling the pinch. Have a lot of experience and technical savvy. Employers don't seem to care that you still have a lot of value to offer a business. Just looking to pay someone real low salary and hope they work out. They too, might have to face getting let go for some kind of poor performance review somewhere down the line. I don't get it at all. Is it not worth it to them to find someone that checks all their check boxes and to pay them well. Are they THAT afraid that you might leave them to retire? Some of us LIKE working.
Wow!, looks promising have you ever thought of working remotely from home?….i have an open staff position if interested.
