I am a current Big 4 Tax Partner. I have been with the firm over 20 years. I see everyone else hoarding resources to make sure they can do as little as possible while I’m still trudging in the trenches and pursuing the market. Strongly considering an exit for many reasons but primarily resource issues and every day pressure to work miracles. The lack of having any operational control is also getting very frustrating. Any advice for those that have taken the leap of faith to make a move?

Higher offers at 27-28 with more fixed pay is from contract and hire/fire type companies. Mostly indirect hiring instead of direct employment with the final employer, means higher pay with lower jon security - we get little more pay, companies get the option to let go with ease later!

After you moved in-house, how did you get more comfortable reviewing contracts or counseling on issues you weren’t super familiar with? I was very specialized at my law firm and took a similarly specialized role in-house….but I still get requests to mark-up types of agreements that I never touched at my firm. I’ve been trying to find CLEs to get up to speed, but I’m wondering if this is generally something that gets more comfortable with time…

Looking to move from enterprise SDR to AM/AE externally. Current comp is $50k base,$70k ote but actually hitting 90-95k. Every AE role I see pays 50k/50k(including my company). In a HCOL that seems pretty low, anyone aware of companies with a higher base or am I dreaming? Is it worth a move if your base stays the same/only goes up like 5%?

Copywriter with serious imposter syndrome at new job! How do senior writers up their game? Was in-house 1.5 years and underpaid in NYC. With only previous freelance experience (and nonprofit and grant writing before that) figured I had to slog through it for years. Cut to now, 6 months into a new copywriting role at huge tech company. My salary almost quintupled overnight. I think I’m doing great, but that depends on the day and who I work with (no other writers by the way).
